The history of Cartier begins in 1847 in Paris, founded by Louis-François Cartier. In the following years 'the House' quickly became a renowned jeweler. As the ‘jeweler of the kings’ it delivers exceptional pieces for royal families and celebrities worldwide. In 1904 Cartier wrote history with the creation of the first wristwatch, the Santos. Distinguished and exuberant collections such as the Tank, Trinity, Panthère and Caresse d'orchidées followed.
With the iconic collections in mind Cartier designed the collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. Cartier uses for this collection only quality materials such as 18 carat gold, diamonds, pearls, rubies, emeralds, sapphires and onyx. For many years Hofstede Optiek is dealer of Cartier and Cartier Precious  for The Hague and near surroundings.
