Glasses consists of two semi-finished products, a frame and a pair of lenses. The grinding of these lenses in the correct shape and the proper assemblage of them in the frame is an art. The real art of the optician truly surfaces in this aspect of the trade. We are proud that we still make all the glasses in our own workshop. Because of this, we still have full control of our quality. These activities take place on the first floor and are performed by people who have been in active service for more than 25 years at Hofstede Optics. They have access to a state of the art grinding machine.
