Contact lenses
General
Because no eye is the same, there is no standard lens that fits everyone. The contact lens specialists and optometrists at Hofstede Optiek are up to date with the latest products and fitting techniques and will work with you to find the right lens fit. Depending on your preferences, prescription, eye shape, and tear quality, a choice will be made between hard, soft, or overnight lenses. We are happy to schedule an appointment for a lens fitting or lens check.
Soft Lenses
Currently the most widely worn type of contact lens. Easy to get used to and ideal for those who want to wear lenses occasionally (for holidays, sports, etc.). Soft lenses come in all types and prescriptions. Hofstede Optiek provides daily, two-week, and monthly lenses from all major brands, both single-vision and multifocal. Monthly lenses (for both eyes) are available from €110 per half-year, including eye care.
Hard Lenses
Still an ideal lens for many people. Think of dry eyes, difficult prescriptions (high cylinders), children, or complex bifocal or multifocal solutions. The fitting of hard lenses often brings out the true craftsmanship of the contact lens specialist or optometrist. A large portion of our clients still successfully wear hard lenses. Hard lenses are available from €215 per pair, including eye care.
Overnight Lenses
Overnight lenses are a good alternative to laser eye surgery. Special hard lenses are worn at night to reshape the cornea. This reshaping is calculated so that during the day (without lenses), vision is perfect. Overnight lenses are available from €345 per pair, including eye care (first year €495).
